Michelle Maccarone (she/her) is a NYC based writer, performer and theatre creator. She Lives in Harlem with her wife, and 2 pugs, Margot Martindale and Imogene Coca.

Her play, The Leopard and the Lynx won Best Production, Best Actor, and Best Actress at New York Theatre Festival’s Winterfest 2025 and it’s subsequent full length version was performed as part of Frigid’s 2026 Queerly Festival. Her 10 minute play, Wannabe has been performed at the Curtain Up! Festival at Burlington County Footlighter’s Second Stage.

Michelle is also a director, having staged numerous productions for The Heights Players in Brooklyn, including Prelude to a Kiss, Blithe Spirit, and The Pillowman.

Her work can also be found on her podcast and blog, Vintage Old Biddy, a variety show with original radio plays, songs, and interviews.

Michelle serves on the board of Broadway Bods, New York City’s only fat positive theatre company. She also co-hosts The Flanacast: A Mike Flanagan Recap Podcast.

When not engrossed in theater making or creative endeavors, Michelle can be found co-organizing the New York City Pug Meetup.

Welcome to the town of Eldritch, a picturesque little village filled with generations of monsters. Every year the elementary school puts on its Halloween pageant, but what should be a gloriously spooky time for Boo, the mayor’s ghostly son, is more tragic. Because Boo doesn’t want to continue his family tradition of haunting, they want to TAP DANCE! Those aspirations will take them on a journey of self discovery that will reveal how important chosen family and forging your own path truly are.

Michelle is currently working on “Joyride” which tells the story of Eleanor Roosevelt and Amelia Earhart’s 1933 “spontaneous flight” to Baltimore during a state dinner.
